Ridge Landfill Adds to American Company Profits - September 21, 2020

It’s a very lucrative business.  In 2019 Waste Connections reported revenue of 5.3 Billion dollars and a profit of 719 million and cash from operating activities of 1.5 billion dollars.  The Ridge Landfill site is part of Waste Connections, an American company listed on the New York Stock Exchange with a subsidiary operating in Canada and listed on the TSE. As we dig into their annual report for 2019, we begin to see the profit nature of the business and how environmental factors influence risks to future profitability.

Life by Design Centre an International Health Care Leader - September 22, 2020

It’s a Gem in downtown Blenheim Ontario.  The Life by Design Centre features a Corrective Chiropractic health facility,  a Fitness Coaching facility, and an eatery that serves up coffee and healthy food that fits within the corporate vision of founder Dr. Jamie Richards.  I sat down with Dr. Richards to discuss his business, entrepreneurial spirit, and the challenges all start-ups face today, particularly within this COVID environment. Along with the facility in Blenheim, Dr. Richards reports that there are 100+ other Chiropractors in the world following his guidelines and coaching protocols to help improve health in their communities.
